Is MeddNotes a medical device or a diagnosis tool?

No. It is a record-keeping app. It stores and organises what your clinicians have already written and measured. It does not interpret results, suggest treatment, or replace medical advice.

Who can see my records?

Only you, and any profiles you create yourself. There is no public mode, no shared feed, and no way for another user to browse your timeline. Anything a doctor sees, you export and hand over deliberately.

Do I have to type in years of history before it is useful?

No. Most people start with the last twelve months, or with whatever condition they are actively dealing with. It becomes useful from about the third record and fills in from there.

How accurate is the document scanning?

Good enough to save most of the typing, not good enough to trust blindly — which is why every extracted field is shown to you for review before anything is saved. The original file is always kept so you can check it against the source.

Can I keep records for my children or my parents?

Yes. Profiles let you hold separate timelines under one account and switch between them without logging out. That is how most carers end up using it.

What happens to my data if I stop paying or delete my account?

You can export everything — records and original files — at any time, on any plan. Deleting your account removes the records and the underlying files, not just your login.

Does it connect to my hospital or lab directly?

Not today. Records are added by you, by hand or by scanning a document. That is a deliberate starting point: it works identically regardless of which country or provider treated you.
